DUCTWORKING: THE SCIENCE OF INDUSTRIAL DUCTWORK

Quickduct ducts are designed to ensure consistent performance in industrial extraction and dust collection systems. Certified materials, precision-engineered geometries, and a variety of jointing systems make it possible to configure reliable ductwork that can be adapted to the specific needs of each system, offering excellent sealing performance and durability for the specific application.

Focus

The Quickduct line is designed to integrate easily with existing industrial extraction and filtration systems. The availability of various diameters, components for flow regulation and diversion, and connection technologies makes it possible to install new ductwork systems or retrofit existing systems.

Controlled wall thicknesses, precise machining, and high-strength laser welds ensure the high structural stability of Quickduct ducts. The system maintains its geometry even under high air velocities, significant operating pressures, and heavy dust loads.

Quickduct ducts are designed to meet excellent standards of airtightness, ensuring that systems can be built in compliance with the relevant UNI standards according to the specific application class. The precision of the jointing systems and the laser-welded seams of the ducts control pressure drop in the system and reduce air leakage, improving the system’s overall efficiency.

The circular geometry of Quickduct ducts promotes stable and continuous airflow distribution along the entire intake line. Reduced turbulence, stable velocity, and the absence of flow variations in the ductwork help minimize pressure drop. The smooth inner surface of the ducts and molded components further improves the performance of the ventilation system by preventing the buildup of process contaminants.

Quickduct uses certified galvanized sheet metal and stainless steel, selected to ensure corrosion resistance and efficient performance in specific industrial applications. Special finishes and technical coatings are available upon request to adapt the system to specific operating conditions or design requirements.

Quickduct air distribution components can be integrated with solutions for the thermal and acoustic insulation of ducts, such as functional linings for external insulation, or silencers for noise reduction and optimization of the ventilation system’s acoustic performance.

Multiple Connection Systems

Stamped flanges and swivel flanges made from sheet metal, for systems operating under various pressure and velocity conditions, including high ones; two-piece clamps, single-piece clamps, and quick-release rings, for more flexible installations and air-handling systems less prone to pressure drop.

Quickduct joining technologies make it possible to design efficient air distribution systems that operate safely, helping to extend the service life of production equipment and improve employee well-being.

Processing

The quality of Quickduct ducts stems from a production process that has stood the test of time and been thoroughly tested at every stage, combining precision engineering, highly reliable welds, and in-line inspections.

Thanks to the ongoing training of our staff, who specialize in both CNC and manual industrial machining, and through the use of state-of-the-art production technologies and top-quality materials, we guarantee controlled wall thicknesses, dimensional accuracy, and precise finishes for both standard ductwork and custom-made products.

1

laser cutting

The laser cutting machines used by Quickduct combine speed and precision to process metal sheets of varying thicknesses—from 8/10 to 15/10, up to 20/10 for special requirements—ensuring smooth, uniform cuts and consistent productivity. Automated solutions for optimizing the loading of sheet metal and the unloading of processed sheets, combined with advanced sensor technology and the optical precision of the cutting heads, facilitate just-in-time production and minimize human intervention.

2

calendering

Sheet metal calendering bending machines, thanks to the precise adjustment of the distance and angle between the rollers, allow for total control over the sheet’s bending radius, thereby ensuring the continuity of the geometry along the entire linear length of the circular-section pipe. Cutting-edge technologies and integrated procedures for in-line quality control guarantee consistent results, even as production batches vary.

3

laser welding

Automated laser welding combines precision and cleanliness to maximize the performance and aesthetics of the welded joint, which is uniform and smooth to the touch. The laser produces leak-tight, burr-free welds with an optimal depth-to-width ratio and minimal distortion. By acting precisely on a limited surface area—thanks to the small molten pool and the short, controllable fusion time—the laser welding process produces minimal waste and flawless results.

sector curves

seam

Unlike one-piece molded bends, the fabrication of segmented bends involves assembling multiple frustoconical parts joined together to form a 90° angle. The number of sectors is optimized to reduce turbulence in the ducts and to maximize the overall efficiency of the air duct system. The sectors are joined together by seaming—a technique that ensures stable, airtight joints, allowing for complete control over the manufacturing process.

flanged components

flange stamping

The flange forming technology used by Quickduct creates non-permanent joint systems between linear ducts and other components of the air distribution system, capable of withstanding varying operating pressures and temperatures, and ensuring the connections remain airtight even in the presence of aggressive contaminants. The production of Quickduct flanges begins with the procurement of galvanized and pickled sheet metal, as well as top-quality stainless steel, which undergoes controlled processing in the high-tonnage press and stamping departments.
